Become a volunteer for newcomers

Newcomers Linköping is a social platform and network for LGBTQI migrants and refugees. Activities vary depending on the participants’ wishes, and newcomers meetings are arranged regularly. 

Do you want to be a part of a team for LGBTQI refugees and migrants? Do you want to make a difference and work with a community based on anti-discrimination?

As a volunteer for Newcomers, you can make a difference in people’s lives! You will work with participants and the project coordinator to arrange activities for and with our members.  

We are seeking someone who:

• Is an LGBTQI person or an ally. 
• Is comfortable in themselves and with working in groups
• Is an attentive listener and can see the needs of individuals as well as groups
• Knows norm critique and anti-racism, can bring issues to the forefront, and problematizes norms with others. 
• It is of merit if you have experience with being racialized and/or if you can speak languages other than Swedish and English.

To be a volunteer within RFSL Linköping is a voluntary assignment and will be without financial contribution.

We offer you:

• Volunteer education
• Continuous group counseling / Volunteer meetings with coordinator and counselor. 
• Support if needed by our counselor through Newcomers. 
• Volunteer certificate and the possibility of references
• A real opportunity to make a difference!
